Police Investigating Post Office Robbery in Reno

Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at the Post Office on North Sierra Street, just before 2 Monday afternoon. Police say 44-year-old Anthony Craig entered the Post Office, jumped over the counter, held the staff at knife-point, and demanded cash. While he was holding a knife to one employees throat, a second employee was able to direct customers in the lobby to leave and call 911. Officers found Craig as he left the building with the knife. Craig complied with the officer’s commands and was taken into custody. During the following investigation officers learned had just been released from a Stockton, California area prison the day before. Craig was arrested for Attempted Robbery with the use of a Deadly Weapon, and Burglary while possessing a Deadly Weapon.
