Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has announced that he and First Lady Kathleen Sandoval are separating with plans to divorce. The Governor and his wife have been married for 27 years. The Governor published a release in which he said that It’s no secret that the demands of public life are hard on a marriage. He continued, saying that their marriage has been affected in a way neither of them had envisioned or expected. He asked that his families privacy be respected during this difficult time. Sandoval was first elected governor of Nevada in 2010. His second term is due to expire in January 2019.
