Reno Police Seek Volunteers to Assist Victims

The Reno Police Department’s Victim Services Unit is seeking volunteers for their upcoming Volunteer Victim Advocate Academy starting in March. Volunteer Victim Advocates provide crisis intervention and coordinate emergency and other support services by phone to victims who have experienced domestic violence, stalking, protection order violations, and other victimization.  Applicants must be 18 years or older, able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and commit to a minimum one-year term of service to include approximately 30 hours per month and ongoing in-service training.
