(KOH) – The remaining vacant land in the largest industrial park in the world has just been sold to a technology company. Last week, developer and Storey County commissioner Lance Gilman’s group sold 100 square miles of the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Park to Blockchains, LLC for an undisclosed cash price. TRI covers nearly 162 square miles, which is larger even than the City of Reno at 106 square miles. Blockchains plans to move its headquarters to the industrial community that includes Google, Tesla, and Switch. The company is based on the distributed digital ledgers that back up digital currency, such as Bitcoin. The company says other developers are making plans for a retail town center at TRI, and a possible residential community at Painted Rock, halfway to Fernley.
