Senator Catherine Cortez Masto toured the newest Reno fire station and got a briefing on the state of the Reno Fire Department and the region’s intense fire season. Cortez Masto also met with RFD firefighters who aided relief efforts in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, as well as the recent wildfires in neighboring California. The Senator says “The bravery and dedication of Nevada firefighters are unmatched – from coming to the aid of our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico after their homes and livelihood were devastated by Hurricane Maria, to helping our neighbors in California who battled the largest wildfires in their state’s history.” She added, it’s an honor to meet with them and hear their stories.
