Sisolak Won’t Take Governor Salary Until Schools Turn Around

Clark County Commission Chairman Chair Steve Sisolak announced that if he’s elected governor he will not take a salary until Nevada’s public schools are turned around. Sisolak says, “Instead, until we get this problem solved, I will donate my salary to non-profits that help support educators and students in and out of the classroom. And mark my words – we will get this problem solved.” Sisolak has a history of reducing his own pay, including proposing and taking a two percent pay cut during the recession. In 2013, Sisolak was one of only two votes against raising commissioner pay back to 2010 levels.
