Nevada press release:
Walk-on sophomore guard Charlie Tooley has been awarded a scholarship for the 2018 spring semester by University of Nevada head men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman. Tooley from, Granite Bay, Calif., has seen action in nine games this season and 25 in his career.
“Our coaching staff is so excited to reward Charlie with a scholarship for the spring,” Musselman said. “Charlie’s confidence, work ethic and willingness to sacrifice for his team is exactly what Nevada basketball is about. Having a player like him on your roster elevates your team in so many ways. He comes to practice on a daily basis with a blue-collar mentality and competes. He is a guy in the locker room that everyone loves to be around and provides unbelievable chemistry for us.”
Tooley was credited by his teammates for starting the Pack’s comeback victory at New Mexico last season. He nailed a 3-pointer with Nevada trailing by 11 points with 1:30 to play that sparked the comeback. The Pack were down 25 points with 11 minutes to play.
