A new K9 will soon be in service at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office thanks to a significant donation from Washoe County K9 Partners. K9 Partners has donated $19,810 to the Sheriff’s Office to acquire the new K9 along with the necessary gear. The donation will also cover additional equipment for the K9 Unit, including heat sensors for the K9 vehicles, and training for K9 deputies. The donation was accepted during Tuesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting. Washoe County K9 Partners is a local non-profit organization that offers invaluable support for law enforcement K9s in our region. K9 Partners raises funds to help supplement the budgets of K9 programs and provide additional equipment, training, and medical needs.
