A report published this week by the Nevada Public Utilities Commission says if “Question Three” the Energy Choice Initiative becomes law, most Nevadan’s would see higher energy bills for at least a decade. It also says renewable energy could slow down or even stop, and it would cost the state 100 million dollars to implement. Governor Brian Sandoval’s office says he is studying the report. The report drew fire from representatives of the Sands Corporation, big supporters of the initiative. They ripped it as “Unethical,” and suggest the P-U-C is too close to the utilities they regulate. A report from Massachusetts says home consumers there are paying 177 million dollars more for energy, than they would have via a regulated utility market.
