Joy Prom This Weekend for Disabled Students in Washoe County

Students with disabilities are attending the “Joy Prom” Saturday. It’s a free event for students in the Washoe County School District with physical and cognitive disabilities. The event serves as an additional opportunity for these students to experience a typical prom night full of fun, music, and dancing. This event features food and activity booths sponsored by each represented school, and participants in formal wear. Each school represented will elect a Joy Prom King and Queen. The theme for this year’s event is Around the World. Joy Prom is partnership effort between the Washoe County School District (WCSD) Office of Student Services, Junior ROTC, and the Nevada Blue Key Honor Society.
