Sparks Fire crews knocked down a structure fire Monday afternoon on the 1100 Block of 15th Street. It happened at a multi-family residential apartment building on the second floor. The second and third floors of the building were evacuated and one person was transported to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation. The Residents of the apartment were in the unit when the fire started. When they rushed out of the apartment, they closed the door to the hallway behind them. Fire officials say that decision kept the fire to one unit rather than spreading down the hall and threatening others. The cause is under investigation.
