Police Investigate Saturday Morning Shooting Prater Way

Sparks Police Department is searching for more information about a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning along Prater Way.

At about 4:30 a.m. May 26, Sparks Patrol Officers responded to 1800 block of Prater Way on a report of a shooting after a disturbance in a parking lot.

Police say an adult male had been shot by another male. The injured male sustained a gunshot wound, treated by officers and medics at the scene, and was then transported to a local hospital. He is currently in stable condition.

The male shooter remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

It is believed that there may have been several witnesses to the shooting, who may have vital information. Anyone who has any information or was a witness to this incident is encouraged to contact Sparks Police Detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

The investigation is still ongoing and no other information, including names of those involved will not be released at this time.
