The Chaves Fire east of Dayton is fully contained after burning 3,483 acres, or about 5.4 square miles. Investigators say the cause of the fire has been confirmed as two people target shooting. The Bureau of Land Management and Nevada Division of Forestry helped fight the fire, which was reported the afternoon of June 3rd about four miles east of Highway 50 on Fort Churchill Road, east of Dayton. There were no evacuation orders and no reported injuries.
