An investigation is underway into a break-in at the Washoe County Family Resource Center. Employees found an estimated $1,300 worth of supplies, such as bus passes, gift cards, gas vouchers, laundry pods,school supplies and food are missing. The place was also vandalized. The building houses Head Start from the Community Services Agency, CHA’s WIC, WCSD’s Pre-K program and Early Childhood Resource Center, and the Family Resource Center. Brenda Costello the Family Resource Specialist says the burglars went through every single office and used a hammer or a crowbar and pried open every single file cabinet.
