Forward Progress Stopped on a Couple of Fires Burning Around The Region

Crews are in the mop-up phase of a 120-acre fire burning near Lockwood. The fire burning along Interstate 80 caused several lane and exit closures that caused traffic to back up for several hours between Vista and USA Parkway. No structures are threatened, and officials say forward progression has stopped. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Forward progression on the Hyatt Fire east of Janesville in Lassen County has been slowed, and officials say crews are in mop up mode. One home was destroyed and one person received non-life threatening injuries. The fire is has burned an estimated 441 acres.
