The Truckee Police Department is investigating after a dead body was found near the Highway 267 bypass bridge. Authorities responded to an abandoned vehicle call near the bridge shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. They found the vehicle empty with the drivers side door open. Nevada County Sheriff Search and Rescue and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office RAVEN helicopter conducted a search of the area and located a dead body. That person’s identity has not been released.
