The Nevada Veterans Association announced its opposition to Question 3, the Constitutional Amendment on the November ballot that some believe will leave Nevada consumers with higher electricity rates, a less reliable electricity system, and cost Nevada consumers and taxpayers billions. Richard S. Carreon, President of the Nevada Veterans Association says they’re concerned that locking Question 3 into Nevada’s state constitution would particularly harm the veteran community. Many veterans live on fixed incomes and can’t afford Question 3’s electricity rate increases. Veterans also face unique, service-related health concerns and depend on reliable electricity.
