The 45 mile speed limit on the new Southeast Connector is getting on the nerves of some drivers. The road was designed to speed up the drive from Sparks to the South Truckee Meadows, and offers six lanes. Way too slow, given all those lanes and wide open spaces around it. RTC’s response is essentially it’s a “Parkway” not a Freeway. At least 50 speeding tickets have been issued since the road opened in July. The RTC also suggests raising the speed limit could cut little more than a minute off the commute time.
