A fire that started Monday near Prototype and Double R Boulevard has been fully contained. High winds pushed flames through dry brush, growing the fire to 28 acres before crews could get a line around it. About two dozen homes were threatened, none were damaged. Ten fire engines were used to fight the fire. The cause has not been determined, but investigators are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between 4:30pm and 5:30pm to contact them at 334-2300.
