NHP has joined the Lander County Sheriff’s Office investigation of the death of a bicyclist Wednesday night. Trooper Jim Stewart says the crash of the bicyclist was reported about 8:30PM on Frontage Road 401, about four miles east of Battle Mountain. The victim was not wearing a helmet when the bike crashed, and died of head trauma. His name has not been released. Stewart says the right-side mirror from a Dodge pickup was found at the scene, so troopers are looking for pickups missing mirrors, in case a truck was involved in the bicyclist’s death.
