A 62-year-old Douglas County woman has been sentenced for exploitation of an older person, a category “B” felony. Second Judicial District Court Judge James Todd Russell sentenced Vicky Jo Adams to up to eight years in prison, and ordered her to pay full restitution in an amount just over $264,000. According to the criminal complaint, Adams was designated the caregiver of her 93-year-old father and his estate. Adams was entrusted with funds for the sole purpose of providing for her father’s care, but she converted more than $250,000 of her father’s funds for her own personal use.
