Senate Majority Leader Pleads Guilty to Misappropriating Campaign Funds, Will Resign

Nevada Senate Majority Leader, Democrat Kelvin Atkinson, has entered a guilty plea to federal charges of misappropriation of campaign funds for personal use and is expected to resign. Atkinson served in the assembly starting in 2002, and was elected to the state senate in 2012. The Clark County commission would appoint a replacement for his Senate seat, and Senator Nicole Cannizzaro is in line to become the new majority leader.
