A lawmaker expelled by his Assembly colleagues in 2013 after a domestic violence arrest and some bizarre behavior, including threats to other lawmakers, is back in the news. Democrat Steven Brooks has been arrested for assault threatening a public official, and disorderly conduct. Brooks was arrested Sunday after allegedly instigating an incident with two people at a Las Vegas grocery store. Witnesses say Brooks told responding officers he had a gun and threatened them and their families. He’s quoted as saying he would put a “Green light” on officers, and that is considered a threat to kill or have others kill.
