Nevada Legislature Considers Red Flag Law to Remove Guns From Troubled People

One gun proposal, that would allow Nevada counties to approve stricter gun laws than the state, is going away, but in it’s place is the “Red Flag” law. It’s a policy backers say will save lives, by taking guns away from people who are troubled or disturbed. It would allow law enforcement or family members to seek a court order forcing a person to give up their guns temporarily, if they appear to pose a danger to themselves or others. The bill would also ban bumpstocks and lower the legal blood alcohol level to be in possession of a gun outside an individuals residence. It was passed by the Senate Judiciary committee.
