Reno Police Searching For Battery Suspect

The Reno Police Department called in the Sheriff’s RAVEN helicopter and a canine unit from the Sparks Police Department to search for a battery suspect last night near Virginia Lake. Police say they got a call of a battery with a handgun in the 600 block of Yori Avenue about 6:00 last night, but when police arrived the suspect was gone. Police got a description of the suspect and about a half hour later he was spotted in the area of Brinkby Avenue and Robinhood Drive. He appeared to duck into an apartment in the area and more officers, plus the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office helicopter and Sparks police dog, were called in to search. Police could not find him.
