The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who died Friday in a fall near Emerald Bay as 35-year-old Dina Espinosa. The sheriff’s office said Espinosa was sitting in a pool of water near Eagle Falls, when she slipped while reaching for a branch and was swept away by fast moving waters. Rescue crews responded immediately, but by the time they found her she was dead. California State Parks is investigating the accident.
