A Reno ex-felon has been sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal gun possession. 55 year old Clifton Jackson, of Reno was convicted by a federal jury in April of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm. It was his 10th felony conviction. Federal Judge Howard McKibben sentenced Jackson to 78 months in prison on that charge, plus another 18 months added when his supervised release was revoked. In December 2018 Jackson was reported walking towards a business, followed by gunshots. A Washoe County Sheriff’s office deputy saw Jackson in a truck, leaving the scene. The deputy pursued and the gun and ammunition were thrown from the vehicle. Jackson and a juvenile were arrested.
