Washoe County School District Sets a District Record For Grad Rates

The Washoe County School District Class of 2019 set a District record graduation rate of 86 percent, an increase from 2018. Eight high schools increased their graduation rates last year. All traditional high schools now post rates of 83 percent or higher, and seven of those schools have achieved graduation rates of 90 percent or higher.  A total of 4,064 students earned their diploma, the first time the District has awarded more than 4,000 diplomas to a single graduating class. Interim Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill calls it a wonderful accomplishment not only for the District, but for every one of the graduates and their families.
