Washoe County School District Developing Coronavirus Response Plan

The Washoe County School District says it is developing a plan to deal with a potential coronavirus outbreak. In the meantime, they ask students and teachers stay home if they are sick and recommend students wash their hands frequently with soap and water and cover coughs and sneezes. To prepare for a possible outbreak, the school district’s student health services, Washoe County District Health Department, the state of Nevada and federal officials are all collaborating on a plan. The statement fro the district says in part, “We can assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to gather information, following guidelines set forth by health officials, and that we will convey this information to our families and our community through the media, online, and through direct communication with our families. ”
