Twelve Apartments Damaged in Fire on South Virginia Street

Reno Fire Department put out a fire at Southwest Village Apartments, on South Virginia Street Thursday. Firefighters were quickly able to knock down the main body of the fire in two apartments. More than 50 firefighters and 12 fire department vehicles responded to the incident. Twelve apartments are affected by smoke and fire. There are no reported injuries. Crews rescued residents from the third floor, as well as a family with a child from a second-story unit.The American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.
