There will be no Fourth of July fireworks in Virginia City this year. A motorcyclist driving recklessly in the area of W 4th St and Stoker Avenue is dead in a crash, after fleeing at high speed, while officers attempted a traffic stop. Washoe County Reports 75th COVID-19 Related Death

Washoe County reported its 75th COVID-19 death, the first since June 24th. The patient was a man in his 60′s. Washoe County had 56 new positive cases Monday, for a total of 2,656. There were 27 new positive COVID-19 cases, Sunday.MORE

Fire in The North Valley Has Burned More Than 3,000 Acres

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue reports the Poeville Fire on Peavine Mountain is 30 percent contained and holding at 3,000 acres. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. One Pedestrian Killed in Crash in Spanish Springs

One person is dead after being hit by a car in Spanish Springs Valley. Nevada Highway Patrol says it happened on Pyramid Way crash near Dolores Drive. The crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, and resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes. It is not suspected that the driver was impaired.MORE
