South Reno Resident Has Contracted Hantavirus

A south Reno resident has contracted hantavirus. This is the first case of hantavirus in Washoe County since two cases were reported in 2017. Fatal Crash Under Investigation East of Fernley

One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 80 east of Fernley. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, it happened about 3:30 pm. Two people were ejected. The fast lane of eastbound Interstate 80 about 14 miles east of Fernley was closed during the crash investigation, it has since reopened.MORE

Two People Displaced by Kitchen Fire

Two people were displaced from a home in north Sun Valley after a kitchen fire spread to the attic. The fire was reported on the 5700 block of Mayo Court just before 9pm. There were no injuries. The American Red Cross is helping the people displaced by the fire.MORE
