Husband of Late State Senator Appointed to Assembly

The Washoe County Commission named Greg Smith to replace Mike Sprinkle in the Nevada Assembly. Smith was married to Debbie Smith, a longtime Democratic Nevada State Senator who died in 2016 of a brain tumor. The minimum wage bill was introduced this week. AB 456 would raise the minimum wage to 12 dollars an hour for workers not offered health insurance, and 11 dollars an hour for this who are. The current minimum for those offered insurance at work is $8.25.MORE
