Family Agrees to Settlement in Wrongful Death Suit

The family of Niko Smith, the man who died in a struggle with deputies at the Washoe County jail last year has agreed to a $75,000 settlement in their wrongful death suit against the county. The Washoe County Commission will now vote on whether to approve the payment to the family.MORE

Drug, Weapons Bust At a Sparks Motel

A 24-year old man has been arrested  after officers recovered a large amount of drugs, and stolen handguns from his motel room in Sparks.  Evan Encoe was arrested at the Motel 6 on Victorian Avenue.
