Highway 50 Closed Again

NDOT has temporarily closed US 50 in the Cave Rock area on Lake Tahoe’s east shore, after five more boulders fell onto the road. Chimney Fire Started by Squatters

A chimney fire at a home in Stead last night may have been caused by squatters. The fire on Hornblend Street was reported just after 7:30. Investigators say the fire was caused by non-traditional fire materials being burned in the fireplace. Westbound I-80 Reopens After Mudslide

A mudslide closed westbound Interstate 80 at the California state line last night, it was reopened around 3:30 Thursday morning. The mudslide trapped three vehicles, but no one was injured.
