Driver Knocks Down Power Pole

Power is back on for a majority of NV Energy customers after a car hit a power pole last night. It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on N. Sierra Street near College Drive. Minor injuries were reported. At one point about 650 people were without power.MORE

Pet Falcons Killed in Structure Fire

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District knocked down a structure fire on Axe Handle Canyon Road Sunday. According to investigators, an outbuilding was completely destroyed. No people were injured, but the fire department says several pet falcons died in the fire. The cause is under investigation.MORE
