Health District to Continue Insecticide Fogging

The Washoe County Health District will be insecticide fogging this morning, after another positive hit for West Nile Virus. Confirmation was received from the Animal Diseases Laboratory of a positive collection of adult mosquitoes in Washoe Valley north of Bellevue Road. Construction Closures at The Bowl

Beginning Tuesday overnight lane closures will be in place on I-580 in the Reno spaghetti bowl, area as the Nevada Department of Transportation resurfaces bridges.  Lanes will be reduced between approximately 9PM and 5AM Sunday evenings through Friday mornings. Izzenhood Fire Closer to Containment

The Izzenhood Fire, burning north of Battle Mountain is coming under control of firefighters. It was sparked by lightning last Thursday and exploded to more than 66 hundred acres withing 24 hours, it was at least 90% contained Monday. Crews are moving into ‘Mop up” mode.MORE

Two Displaced After Silver Springs Fire

Two people are displaced after a structure fire in Silver Springs. Central Lyon Co. Fire responded to the fire at a home on 9th Street yesterday evening. Officials say the fire damaged the home, a travel trailer and a vehicle. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.MORE

Two people are dead and one person is injured after a vehicle went off a cliff in Carson City. Six Arrested in Major Meth Operation

Six people have been arrested by the Tri-Net Drug Task Force for drug trafficking, selling meth from Carson City all the way to Bakersfield, California.  Over 3 and a half pounds of methamphetamine were found when officers searched the home in Carson City.
