A vehicle hit a pedestrian near the intersection of Moana Lane and South Virginia Street last night just before 6:30. Test Positivity Rate Falls to 5% in Washoe County

Washoe County has achieved a covid test positivity rate of 5%, which is the target the World Health Organization recommends for full reopening of schools. That would have to be maintained for two weeks to be within their guildelines. In Washoe County’s latest report there are 47 new cases, 244 more recoveries, and two deaths.MORE

Canyons Housing Community Gets Approval From The Reno City Council

Reno City Council approved a motion, 5-to-2, to allow developers to build The Canyons housing community above Damonte Ranch. A spokesman with Christy Corporation says they will donate $500 per lot – or roughly $35,000 – for future affordable housing efforts. It is unclear when construction will begin on The Canyons.MORE
