Reno City Council Moves Forward With Moana Pool Plan

Reno City Council approved a conditional $9 million pledge agreement with the William Pennington Foundation toward the construction of a pool at Moana Springs Park. The unemployment rate was up “Point-one” percent, but the latest report from the Nevada Department of Employment and Training says Nevada’s job growth remains very strong, with 5,200 new jobs filled in July over June. Nevada Highway Patrol Identifies Woman Killed in Crash on U.S. 95

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a crash on U.S. 95 Alternate in Lyon County. Investigators say 20-year-old Heather Pineda was not wearing a seatbelt when she went off the road and flipped her car on Saturday, August 10th. Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are asking for the public’s help with identifying the suspect in a vehicle burglary and credit card fraud investigation. Sometimes There is a Sex Offender Lurking in the Bushes in the Park

A concerned citizen alerted an NHP Trooper, leading to the arrest of an unregistered sex offender wanted in North Dakota. Multiple Agencies Battling Wildfire North of Fallon

Crews are on scene of a wildfire burning in the Stillwater Range north of Fallon in Churchill County. The Wood Canyon fire has burned more than 1,200 acres since starting Tuesday afternoon. There are no homes threatened, the cause is under investigation.MORE

Reno Police continue searching for 80-year-old Susan Hillygus who they say was kidnapped from her care facility on Thursday August 8th, just before 3 p.m. Hillygus has dementia and requires medication. The 9th Circuit Rejects Request by Nevada Officials Over Plutonium Shipments

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected a request by Nevada officials, to block future shipments of plutonium from South Carolina to a federal property north of Las Vegas.
