Seven People Arrested in Fourth of July DUI Crackdown

The Reno Police Department arrested seven people Friday night and Saturday morning in a crackdown on intoxicated drivers. The operation was in conjunction with the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Police stopped 35 drivers total and issued 16 traffic citations. The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety provided the grant that paid for the operation.MORE

One Person Rescued After Getting Stuck in Truckee River Rapids

The Reno Fire Department responded to a report of a person in a boat stuck in the rapids of the Truckee River between Arlington Boulevard and Sierra Street Thursday. Two fire department swimmers went into the water to assist the boater and had him out by 5:30 p.m. There were no injuries.MORE
