Sparks City Council Approves Budget For Fiscal Year 2019-2020

The Sparks City Council approved the 2019 budget for fiscal year 2019-2020. The budget includes hiring for 33 new positions, 12 in the Sparks Police Department, including six police officers, two dispatchers and four office support staff. Governor Steve Sisolak has signed the prevailing wage bill for public construction projects. Currently any government project that costs more than $250,000, must pay workers a prevailing wage.
