They say no one wants this, but contend hospital management isn’t taking steps to retain experienced nurses, and is taking punitive action against nurses who stand up for their rights. Some federal funds are coming to the Reno Tahoe airport for runway improvements. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao says Reno will get ten million dollars of the 779 million going to airports across the country in supplemental funds.MORE

Washoe County School District Raising The Cost of School Lunches

The cost of school lunches are going up in the Washoe County School District. The price is being increased by ten cents. The district says this has to do with USDA requirements and the rising cost of food. School lunch prices have now increased 30 cents since 2016.MORE

Virginia Street Antique Mall Looking For a New Location

A Midtown Reno mainstay for 26 years has closed. The Virginia Street Antique Mall’s last day of business was Wednesday. Reportedly the property owner doesn’t want to renew the lease, and has other plans for the building. Many of the antique dealers are looking for new spaces in other locations.MORE

Fed Ex Driver Crashes Van Into The Walker River

A Fed Ex driver is recovering after crashing his van into the Walker River Tuesday. It happened on Nordyke Road in Yerington. Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says it looks like the driver had some sort of medical emergency when the accident happened. Job Growth Continues in Nevada in April

Employment in Nevada was up by 2,800 jobs in April and is 49,600 over the year.
