Amtrak Train Service Between Reno and Sacramento Returns Sunday

Amtrak says normal service between Reno and Sacramento is scheduled to get back underway Sunday, March 3rd. Service was suspended February 26 after an avalanche covered the tracks with snow west of Truckee. Amtrak says buses have been chartered to take passengers between Northern Nevada and Northern California.MORE

The couple charged in the death of a 5-year-old girl has waived a preliminary hearing scheduled for yesterday in Reno Justice Court. 24-year-old Tyler Jermaine Anderson, and 23-year-old Averyauna Cheyenne Anderson, are charged in the death of Cali Anderson. Seven Fugitives Arrested During Latest Joining Forces Campaign

Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies have just completed their most recent Joining Forces campaign, and caught 185 people for various citations. 119 people were ticketed for speeding and 68 were pulled over for distracted driving violations.
