Meth Use Rises in Shadow of Opioid Epidemic

As attention has shifted to the opioid epidemic, methamphetamine use is surging again. Amphetamine related hospitalizations jumped 245% between 2008 and 2015. Over the same period opioid hospitalizations grew only 46%. In some states, such as Texas and Colorado, overdose deaths from meth have surpassed those from heroin.MORE

Storage Unit Fire Believed to Have Been Started by Squatters

Investigators say the fire yesterday at a storage unit on Kuenzli Street was caused by squatters using fire for warmth. Several other units were damaged by the flames but no homes or other businesses nearby were impacted.
