Roosters Comb Fire Contained at 218,000 Acres North of Battle Mountain

The Roosters Comb Fire burned about 218,380 acres, or about 341 square miles, and is 100 percent contained, according to the US Forest Service. It burned 25 miles north of Battle Mountain. Backyard Fire Damages Home in Sparks

Sparks Fire Department stopped a backyard fire at Rock Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, Monday that prompted nearby evacuations. The University of Nevada Seisomolgy Lab reports Fernley was rocked by a 3.6 magnitude earthquake about 5:38 pm Monday. The epicenter of the quake was about 6.7 miles south-southeast of the city, with a depth of just over 28 kilometers.MORE

Sparks Police Looking For The Vandals Who Smashed Car Windows on D Street

Sparks police are asking for witnesses to come forward after at least five cars had their windows smashed early this morning in the area of D Street and El Rancho Drive. Family Doctor Pleads Guilty in Pill Mill Case

Small Brush Fire Damages Home in East Fernley

Federal fire crews and the North Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to a brush fire in the Highland Drive area of east Fernley Sunday. The fire burned the exterior of one home. No one was injured. The cause of the 3-acre fire remains under investigation.MORE
