Fraternity Appeal Rejected at University of Nevada

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity is out at the University of Nevada.  It’s privileges and recognition  have been officially ended. SAE was cited for violations of the student code of conduct, the University’s alcohol policy,  and other agreements, and the Frat’s appeal was rejected, That means a four year loss of recogniztion will stand.MORE

Naked Alleged Carjacker Arrested at Tahoe

A South Lake Tahoe man is under arrest for carjacking and false imprisonment after he allegedly tried to steal a woman’s car while she was inside it. Casino Industry Lobbying to Repeal Federal Laws That Ban Sports Betting

The casino industry’s lobbying arm is continuing efforts to repeal federal laws that ban sports betting in most states. Nevada Will Ask a Judge to Allow Recreational Pot Sales to Begin In July

The state is asking a judge to dismiss a suit filed by alcohol distributors, that could postpone the July 1 startup of recreational sales of marijuana in Nevada. Family Agrees to Settlement in Wrongful Death Suit

The family of Niko Smith, the man who died in a struggle with deputies at the Washoe County jail last year has agreed to a $75,000 settlement in their wrongful death suit against the county. The Washoe County Commission will now vote on whether to approve the payment to the family.MORE

Legionnaires Disease Leads to Clean-up at Las Vegas Hotel

Two guests at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas have contracted a respiratory infection called “Legionnaires Disease.” The guest stayed at the hotel seperatley according to the Southern Nevada Health district in April and May.
