Handgun Found at Spanish Springs High School

A handgun was confiscated at Spanish Springs High School Tuesday, but the Washoe County School district says no shots were fired, and there was no act of violence associated with the weapon.  It’s not clear why the gun was at school, one unnamed juvenile has been arrested.MORE

Gov Names Superintendent of Public Instruction

Former Deputy Pleads Guilty to Drug Trafficking

A former El Dorado County sheriff’s drug task force member at Lake Tahoe, has pleaded guilty to one count of drug trafficking.  Douglas County sheriff’s deputies arrested 48 year old Mark Zlendick at his home southwest of Gardnerville last spring, after he was accused of stealing drugs from an evidence locker in South Lake Tahoe.…MORE

The Nevada Natural Resource Conservation Service says 28 billion gallons of water have flowed into Lake Tahoe since December 9th. Missing Fisherman Found in Pyramid Lake

The body of a second fisherman who went missing in Pyramid Lake was recovered Sunday, the first was recovered Saturday. The bodies were found just off Warrior Point in water about 130 feet deep. Record Number of Super Bowl Bets in NV

Super Bowl fans bet $132.5 million at Nevada sportsbooks on the big game. The Nevada Gaming Control Boards’ preliminary estimate is that Nevada’s 194 sports books kept about 10.1 percent of the bets, for a total win of $13.3 million. One Man Dead in Fatal Crash on I-580
