Estates Fire in Lemmon Valley Burns More Than Three Acres

A fire north of Lemmon Valley grew to about 3.4 acres before firefighters stopped its progress. The fire was called controlled on Sunday morning. The Estates Fire was first reported at 3:47 p.m. Saturday and burned in grass and heavy sagebrush. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District responded. There is no word on a cause.MORE

Seven People Arrested in Fourth of July DUI Crackdown

The Reno Police Department arrested seven people Friday night and Saturday morning in a crackdown on intoxicated drivers. The operation was in conjunction with the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
