Crews Getting Control of Wildfire in Nevada County

Evacuation orders were issued for a portion of Nevada County due to a wildfire. The Highway Fire is burning in the Washington Overlook area of Nevada City. Aerial attacks have helped slow the progress of the fire and crews have held it to about 25 acres. No injuries have been reported.MORE

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim who died in a shooting Friday in midtown as 25-year-old Brian Loza-Munoz of Sparks.
