Game Wardens Bust Poacher

Game wardens have arrested a suspect in the illegal killing of a bull elk in Lincoln County last August. 26 year old Zackry Holdaway was arrested following an investigation by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Holdaway allegedly shot the elk, removed it’s head, and left the rest to waste near Pearson Ranch in Lincoln County.MORE

Smoke affecting the air quality in the Truckee Meadows is coming from a large fire in Monterey County. Broken Water Line Opens Sink Hole

A broken water line has opened a six foot “sink hole,” on Jack’s Valley Road. It’s right at the entrance to Genoa Lakes Golf Course. A preliminary “boil water” notice has been issued for people who live in the Montana development. The cause of the waterline break is under investigation, repairs may take several days.MORE

Results of Pedestrian Safety Campaign

Reno Police have released the results of a campaign to keep pedestrians safe. July 21st, they conducted a joint pedestrian safety and DUI campaign in downtown Reno from 2:00 until 11:00 PM, issuing 92 pedestrian and 64 driver citations related to pedestrian violations. Little Den, Shooting Range Fires Contained

The Shooting Range Fire off USA Parkway, is now fully contained. Some firefighters will stay on scene for the next few days for mop-up operations and to prevent flare ups.
